Cory Henning, LCSW/LICSW
Cory Henning is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Rhode Island who lives in East Providence, RI. He has been practicing therapy since 2016 during his time in San Diego State University’s Masters of Social Work program. Cory has worked in a variety of settings including substance use facilities, crisis field work, group practices, and county government work. He specializes in trauma (particularly male survivors), young adults, and challenges in life transitions. Cory has been connected to and has worked with the LGBTQIA+ population and is a strong ally/advocate of the community.
My Background
Cory received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University in 2012 and his Masters of Social Work from San Diego State University in 2018. During this time, Cory worked with a dual diagnosis facility helping the LGBTQIA+ community and provided therapy to those experiencing a crisis.
Cory continued to work with young adults in crisis for Yolo County for multiple years before relocating to Rhode Island when Cory opened Morningrise Wellness in 2023. During this time, Cory received trainings for/ has been accredited with EMDRIA, CPT, DBT, TEAM CBT.
