Frequently asked questions
How much do you charge per session?
Most individuals seeking therapy will be responsible for their copay with their insurance company which varies per person/per plan. For individuals without insurance or outside insurances I take, one hour-long session would cost $170. However, I do accept sliding scale, meaning I am willing to work with individuals with financial needs to find a price per session that works for both of us.
Which insurances do you accept?
I am currently paneled with Anthem, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, United, Neighborhood Healthplan of Rhode Island, and Student Services (United).
What if I need to cancel a session? Do I have to pay for that?
If you need to cancel a session, I ask that you provide 24 hours notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours notice, I do charge an $80 late cancellation/no show fee. However, if this is due to an emergency, please inform me so we can discuss needs/options. Insurance companies typically will not pay a late cancellation fee and is the responsibility of the client.
I’m anxious about therapy and don’t know where to start/How long will therapy take?
Therapy can be a big step for many folks to take and can feel quite daunting. A good place to start is a 15 minute consultation where we can briefly discuss your needs and therapeutic options. Each person’s timeframe for therapy will vary on different factors and the best way to get an idea of what to expect would be discussing/developing a plan at the start of therapy.
Do you have an office/Do you meet with clients virtually?
At this time, I meet with clients virtually only. However, I currently live in Rhode Island and have a business plan to open an office to provide a face to face option for nearby clients in the future!
